George Humphrey was born to a dirt farmer and homemaker in Hamilton County, Indiana. His family weathered many hard times, foremost the Great Depression. In 1942, Humphrey was drafted into the U.S. Army and fought in the European Theater. For his endeavors on the battlefield, Humphrey was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other combat medals. After the war ended, Humphrey gained employment and was a member of the American workforce for over forty years. And through it all he never complained.
David Humphrey is the author of several books on Indiana history including Indiana’s Lost National Road, Abandoned Madison County, and The Golden Years of Rock and Roll in the Hoosier State. He is the recipient of the 2005 Kodak Gallery Award for Portrait Photography. His work has appeared in the Indianapolis Star and the Anderson Herald Bulletin. Humphrey resides in Pendleton, Indiana.
W. Evan Humphrey is an award winning musician and composer. He is a 2018 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Ball State University in 2022. He Never Complained is the aspiring author’s first published book. Humphrey lives in Muncie, Indiana.
