Description

Photographer Jeremiah Herderich is excited to announce his calibration with M.T. Publishing Company, Inc. to release a new book on North America firehouses. This publication is schedule for release early in 2026. The book is now available on a pre-sale basis, with the first 400 pre-ordered books containing a personal printed note from the photographer. Books order after delivery will not only be at a higher cost, but will also not contain the photographer printed note.

This new publication will not only feature photographs of unique firehouses from across the U.S. and Canada, but also some rare interior firehouse and apparatus shots as well. This 8-1/2” x 11” hard cover edition will feature approximately 208 high gloss coated color pages with a color cover and color dust jacket. A bonded-leather bound cover is also being offered with the color dust jacket wrapped around it.

The author has been photographing urban neighborhoods in large cities and economically depressed areas for over 20 years, and some of these photos will also be included to give the reader an appreciation of the challenges the firefighters working in those neighborhoods face. Some featured firehouses will include shots of these challenging first-due areas along with photos of the firehouse.

All of the firehouses featured in the book were active at the time they were photographed. While many Firehouse books feature closed and refurbished firehouses, this book does not. It is the author’s goal to provide a comprehensive look at many active firehouses from across the U.S. and Canada.

About the Photographer:

Jeremiah Herderich was born in Laramie, Wyoming. Growing up down the street from classic Fire Station #1, the oldest operating firehouse in the State of Wyoming, he was a frequent boyhood visitor and this is where his passion for the fire service began. The son of a police officer, Jeremiah was exposed to many different facets of emergency services while growing up, and also while riding patrol alongside his father. Jeremiah’s passion for the fire service continued to grow over the years, at 18 he became a Call Firefighter in Montana, at 21 he was hired to his first career firefighter position with the Lockwood Fire Department in Billings, Montana. Jeremiah also served for 6 years in the Westminster Colorado Fire Department before being hired by the Denver Fire Department in 2008, where he presently holds the rank of Lieutenant. Jeremiah has always held a passion for fire photography, and he has submitted work for both 5280Fire and Firehouse Magazine. Many of his photographs have also been used in DFD Training publications and yearbooks. As a firefighter who travels often, Jeremiah has held a strong interest in photographing and visiting big-city fire departments, and much of that work is included in these pages. Jeremiah also served for many years on the Board of Directors at the Denver Firefighters Museum. This is his first published book. He currently resides and works in Denver, Colorado.
