Companies in Quarters: A Pictorial History of the Firehouses of the LAFD is compiled by the same authors, Dave Cox and Walt Jeager, who produced Land, Sea, and Air in 2006.
It features everything from the early horse-drawn stations of the 1800’s to the modern stations of today. Also included are pictures of much of the apparatus that was quartered at the stations at those times plus maps and histories. This book covers the 106 current stations and over 120 former stations, including new uses for dozens of old stations.
The book is a 9 x 12 inch, coffee table style, hardbound edition containing approximately 500 photographs on 208 acid-free pages, 73 of which are in color. It also has a color dust jacket and a color cover.
