Marsha Williamson Mohr grew up with the love of nature and seasons. Remembering the highlights of the holidays formed a fond warm feeling in her heart. As an adult she was inspired to showcase these seasons should anyone have this affectionate demeanor. Years upon years it took Marsha all over Indiana to outline and capture each season in every climate. She doesn’t understand how someone would choose to live in the same climate all year long. Each has their own significant properties she values. Brisk cool clean air, ground covered with sparkling snow, pastel flowering trees offset by bright blue skies and eagerness of experiencing a warmer day, fireflies lighting up the summer evenings with children’s playing voices, and last, autumn, with trees blazing hues of bright reds, yellows and oranges and the smell of wet leaves. Now one can experience these seasons from the warmth of their living room
Marsha Williamson Mohr has been taking photographs for almost 40 years. She has had many photos in national publications, as well as five books published, including Indiana Barns, Indiana Covered Bridges and more. Several of her books have won IPPY awards in Midwestern category and were presented in New York City. Reiman Publications sent her to on site locations over several states for perspective articles. Being a girl growing up with a farm family favored her ability to take photos in such rustic locations. Rural photography is her “Claim to Fame,” but she never passes up an occasional waterfall or mountain. Her favorite, and hardest to compose, is the rural scene. This requires the careful placement of the subjects in the right locations. Followers recognize her style prior to seeing the credits. She is honored to be selected to be an Indiana Artisan and founder of the Indiana Barn Foundation.
