A Clean Sweep is a bright tale born of Evansville, Indiana’s outstanding history of war matériel production during World War II.

A Clean Sweep is a book for the young and young at heart and will be released after the first of the year in 2020. It is a great story to share with your children or grandchildren and will educate them about Evansville’s critical role in helping to win WWII. There will even be a historical overview of the workings of the LST shipyards included in the book.

About the Author
Angie Karcher is a former Kindergarten teacher, Developmental Therapist and children’s author of Where the River Grins, 2012, M.T. Publishing Company, Inc., The Legendary R.A. Cowboy Jones, 2014, M.T. Publishing Company, Inc., and Santa’s Gift, 2017, M.T. Publishing Company, Inc. She has two upcoming titles: Sideline Slugger, M.T. Publishing Company, Inc., Spring 2020 and Lady of the Library, Sleeping Bear Press, May 2021.

Angie is the creator of Rhyme Revolution. This annual event held in April, is a writing challenge on her blog, for children’s authors. She has a passion for writing rhyming picture books and poetry and encourages educators and parents to read rhyme frequently to children. Rhyme encourages language development and fosters a love of reading.

Angie is the founder of The Rhyme Revolution Conference and hosts The Best in Rhyme Award, announced annually in February in New York City, New York, naming the best rhyming picture book and several honor books each year.

Angie frequently presents at schools, libraries, bookstores and writing conferences. She is the IN SCBWI Regional Advisor and lives in Evansville, Indiana with her husband.

About the Illustrator
Emily Colucci Peak is an artist from Jasper, Indiana. She currently creates from her home studio and is the Gallery Curator and Visual Arts Coordinator at the Jasper Arts Center. Art has been a part of Emily’s everyday life from a young age. Growing up with an artist father and a very art supportive family, there was never a question if Emily would pursue the arts as a career. She works in many mediums including, sculpture, metal, ceramics, printmaking, photography and painting. Her award winning work has been shown in galleries throughout Indiana and in Florence, Italy. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana State University (Terre Haute, Indiana) and Florence University of the Arts (Florence, Italy) with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History.
