About the Author
Harold Morgan grew up in Evansville, turning 9 years old on VJ day. He had four uncles and two cousins who were US Navy and Army Air Force servicemen in the Pacific Theatre in the war years. Harold’s grandfather Wells was one of the first carpenters hired for Camp Breckenridge construction. His family’s first hand experience fueled his interest in WWII. After retiring from his engineering position at Apex Engineering of Mount Vernon, IN and Calvert City, KY in 1998, Harold has devoted his time to researching and writing about the Tri-State during WWII.
