Horses to Horsepower is an all color album by the authors of Land, Sea and Air and Companies in Quarters, Dave Cox and Walt Jaeger of the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society.
The 208 page book features each type of apparatus from the horse-drawn steamers and chemical hose wagons to the latest super powered engines and trucks of today. All of the photos will have descriptive captions. Also covered will be rescue ambulances, helicopters, fire boats, airport crash trucks, Dozer transports, wreckers, brush patrols, tankers, water towers, command and support vehicles. Full page color fire scenes with apparatus in action is shown throughout the book. A special section of the book showcases scale models of the LAFD apparatus.
